Introduction to Quantum Computing

Part 2: HPC Algorithms for Science & Tech

This course provides an introduction to quantum computing with a focus on its applications in High Performance Computing. Foundational concepts are first reviewed before progressing to practical programming with Qiskit, offering students direct experience with quantum circuits and algorithms.
Quantum annealing is then examined as a complementary paradigm, highlighting its role in solving optimization problems and its integration with HPC workflows.
The course also explores quantum computing with neutral atoms, showcasing recent advances in hardware architectures.
Hands-on exercises accompany each topic, enabling students to develop practical skills and gain a deeper understanding of the emerging intersection between quantum computing and HPC.
